Job Title: Operations Manager, Depot Location
Reports To: Senior Operations Manager
Coaches: Senior Operations Manager, President
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: The Depot is Headwater Food Hub’s secondary warehouse located in Romulus NY, in the former Seneca Army Depot. It serves as the primary production location for our Community Programs and includes our Farm-to-Food Bank and Farm-to-School Programs. For these programs, we source from our network of growers and producers and pack food boxes to be sent to Food Banks and Food Pantries across the State, from Buffalo to New York City. The Depot Operations Manager will help to coordinate inbound products, outbound orders, and production in order to successfully execute these programs, and will serve as a liaison between our supply/sales teams and our production team. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, demonstrates strong communication and problem solving skills, and is excited to jump into a fast-paced environment. Passion for local food and food access is a must!

Supported by the Senior Operations Manager, Program specific Operations Managers will directly oversee and manage the following key activities:
Coordinates accurate receiving of product from farmers and vendors and ensures storage in an organized, documented and food safe way.
Diligently checks product quality of all food and value-add items to ensure quality is appropriate for shipping to customers, and notifies the appropriate manager of any issues.
Works with the production team in both repetitive and unique order packing in a timely manner to maintain high quality results through distribution.
Coordinates transfer of any products between the Depot and other Headwater inventory locations.
Maintains and develops documentation for key work processes, procedures and systems.
Continuously seeks ways to improve fulfillment operations efficiencies, effectiveness, and cross-department coordination.
Maintains accurate order forms and packing slips for Production staff to ensure accurate packing Ensures inventories of food products and packaging materials are appropriately positioned for efficient Picking and Packing operations.
Communicates and resolves issues with sales, supply, and logistics teams and makes sure these resolutions are carried out in the packing cycle.
Maintains accurate, up-to-date physical production schedule with all appropriate documentation.
Leadership and Management:
Supply Team Involvement - work closely with Category Managers and Merchants to coordinate the smooth and effective flow of product in and out of The Depot, per production and cross docking timelines. Works to problem solve and communicate according to issues and deviations from the plan.
Programs Team Involvement - work closely with Program Managers and Directors to coordinate the operations and execution of each Program, related to the infrastructure and activities at The Depot.
Operations Team - work within the Operations Leadership Team to continue to enhance our standard processes across locations and to oversee, train, support, and manage staff that are part of our Operations Team.

Physical - Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand on feet for an extended amount of time. Will be working in hot and cold temperature regulated areas.
Experience with Google Workspace and ERP software is preferred but not required.
Compensation: Based on experience and expertise, $16-$18 per hour. Benefits include 2 weeks PTO, paid holidays, healthcare, discounted food, and profit sharing after one year of employment.
