Shallots
Description
Shallots (Allium cepa) are a member of the onion genus that are native to Israel and regions of the Mediterranean. Shallots are very similar to onions but are typically sweeter, more aromatic and quite strong in taste. They are known for their beautiful copper to purple skin and being sectioned into cloves like garlic.
Shallots are commonly used as a substitute in recipes for onions.
We recommend storing your shallots uncovered in the refrigerator and they should typically last around ten days!
